Biography/Resume: Colin Bower's first stage appearance was before an audience of wounded soldiers at a London Hospital as Happy in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs - 1939.
On leaving school Colin went to live with his sister in Canada where he began a radio career and appeared regularly with the London Little Theatre Company. After seven years he moved to South Africa where he worked for the South African Broadcasting Company. In 1958 he returned to Britain and joined Television Wales and the West as Announcer/Newsreader and Interviewer, moving the following year to a similar position in Anglia Television. Then after a brief visit to Australia, he joined Tyne Tees Television before going 'freelance'. His television credits include parts in The Onedin Line, Warship, Coronation Street. Emmerdale, Brookside, Peak Practice, Boon, Byker Grove, and Signs and Wonders. His theatre credits include Educating Rita, Boy Meets Girl, Barretts of Wimpole Street, Toad of Toad Hall, Cinderella, Treasure Hunt, Pygmalion, My Three Angels, Dick Whittington amongst others. He is married with two adult children. His other interests include model railways, films, steam railway, psychic phenomena, cooking and good mystery stories.

  • My Farcical Career on a Cruise Ship as Passenger Liaison Officer - About forty years ago Colin Bower accepted a contact to become the Passenger Liaison Officer on the British-India ship Nevasa. His duties included providing the entertainment for three hundred passengers and attending to their never ending flow of complaints. His career at sea lasted twice as long as any previous holder of the position, namely seven months. The work gave him a fascinating insight into human nature and numerous amusing true stories.

Speaking Experience:
Colin Bower's speaking experience covers many years on radio, television and the theatre and also an extensive career recording over seventeen Talking Books for Ulverscroft. He has also acted and created voice-overs in major TV commercials and corporate videos. He is adamant that his work will never contain crude or 'blue' material.
